Adult Allies and Teachers

​Let's partner to support the next generation of conservation change-makers.

 

​Helping young people succeed in making a difference benefits all of us. We need your help to channel teen's energy and concern for the earth into action, and to cultivate their confidence with civic engagement.

Steps You Can Take

 

  • Invite your students to attend our third annual youth conservation summit online Saturday, October 2, 2021, created by and for young people ages 13–18. Adult allies, mentors and teachers are also welcome to attend! Students can register for the summit as individuals or as part of a team. 

 

  • Support your students' continued learning through our hybrid online/in-person Conservation Impact Course. This 16-hour course starting in November, 2021 is offered through Cincinnati Nature Center and University of Cincinnati's Communiversity and focuses on focuses on social influence, behavioral change and civic engagement. Teens ages 13-18 can apply to attend this class (a $279 value) for FREE. You can also join this course as a teacher or mentor!

  • Work with a team of your students to create a Next in Nature conservation project. Cincinnati Nature Center will offer mentorship and funding to support your team in this endeavor. Please contact Connie O'Connor at coconnor@cincynature.org if you are interested - we'd love to hear from you!

  • INCENTIVIZE, INCENTIVIZE! We encourage you to incentivize your students to participate in any of the above activities and projects by offering them project credit, service learning hours, etc. Changing the world is serious work, and they deserve meaningful rewards!
