All youth ages 13-18 are encouraged to apply to become a committee member. We are looking for a diverse range of talents to help make this year’s summit the best yet!

• Our youth-led committee will coordinate topics and presenters, while gaining experiences in conference planning tasks like email communications, marketing strategies, and the dynamics of teamwork.

• The summit planning process will span a 6-month period: April – October 2021. The committee will hold a 2-hour meeting each month, with additional time being required as we near the summit date. Youth participants can expect to serve a minimum of 50 volunteer hours to complete their commitment.

• Applicants will be chosen based on their responses to questions regarding the skills they can bring to this team.

Important Dates for the 2021 Youth Conservation Summit

• Sunday, April 11 – Committee member applications are due by 9 pm

• Friday, April 16 - Committee member applications will be reviewed by Nature Center staff and chosen volunteers will be notified.

• Thursday, April 22 (Earth Day!) – Meet the team – our first committee meeting will be held on Zoom from 6-8 pm.

• Saturday, October 2 – The 3rd Annual Youth Conservation Summit
