Are you 13–17 and care about nature? Want to make a difference for the environment? This group is for you!

WHAT

Each week, hear from guest speakers and spend time with mentors to work on a project that benefits conservation in your school, community, or the world!

 

WHERE

Online

 

WHEN

Monday evenings, 7–8 pm, February–April (12 hours total)

WHY

In this program, you’ll receive:

• Mentorship from local environmental advocates and organizations

• Resources to help bring your ideas to life

• Funding opportunities

• Potential to fulfill school requirements (ex: community service hours, extra credit, etc.) • A great addition to your resume to land your dream job or nail your college application

MEETING TOPICS

February 7: The 3 W’s (Welcome, What, and Why)

  • Who are you? What do you care about? Why?

February 14: Find Your Focus

  • Explore environmental issues in need of an ally.

 

February 21: Find Your Voice

  • Learn to leverage your voice and strengths for nature.

 

February 28: Right Place, Right Community

  • Find people to help your cause.

 

March 7: Solid Plan

  • Get input from stakeholders.

 

March 14: Army of Allies

  • True change requires others to modify their behavior, but how do we get them on our team?

 

March 21: Be SMART

  • Are your goals Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Realistic, and Time-based?

 

March 28: Be SMART (Continued)

 

April 4: Mind on the Money

  • Create a budget and apply for funds.

 

April 11: We Got Your Back

  • Gain buy-in from others.

 

April 18: Troubleshooting

  • Work through the kinks and bring your ideas to fruition.

 

April 25: Tell Your Story

  • Recount your story to others in a way that inspires.
